Paper Towns Movie Reviews
Cara Delevingne gives a rookie performance as Margo but no matter... She's missing for half of the film anyway. The real lead here is Nat Wolff, who gives a very nice and little performance as our lead who goes searching for his love who disappears. Wolff, who was 20 years old when filming 'Paper Towns' acts and looks like a teenager which is good. The supporting cast are good too.
This film is a very sweet movie, its no tearjerker like FIOS but its a breezy late summer movie.
The script is good but not great, it reeks too much of your average 'teen movie'. It doesn't surprise and just satisfies unlike FIOS. It doesn't go beyond the bare minimal of satisfaction. You will walk out of the movie thinking "That was good" but not "THAT WAS GREAT".
The score consists of the most recent pop hits that you'll find playing on the radio on every single station. Its a fun score but only for the younger and its not strong and compelling music that screams at you "I FEEL SO HAPPY" or "I FEEL SO SAD" or "I FEEL SO CONFUSED" or "I FEEL SO FRUSTRATED AND ANGRY". The score that you hear in the film doesn't bring you any emotions which isn't good but most teenagers and others will forgive the score for that. This also is unlike FIOS.
I must admit that this is not Fault in Our Stars, it is Paper Towns and Paper Towns is not too bad. Paper Towns will entertain and the message is clearly displayed across the film in a nice way.
This film has heart and is a breezy summer film that will entertain teenage girls. Guys won't have much fun with this film but this film wasn't even geared toward them anyway. This is a girl's movie with plenty for them to like.
